LEADERSHIP TEAM
PRANJAL JAIN
She / Her
FOUNDER
New York City
My name is Pranjal Jain and I’m an 19-year-old social justice organizer and activist. As a former undocumented immigrant, first-generation student, woman, and Indian-American, my personal experiences translated into my advocacy for women’s rights and self-empowerment. I first started organizing around bullying-prevention when I was 12 years old, holding workshops, and serving as a peer educator. Since then, I have organized numerous social justice rallies and events, created curriculum centered around woman’s issues, joined Brown Girl Magazine’s team as a writer for their politics/social justice section, and serve as Associate Director or Gen Z Girl Gang.
Seeking powerful women that look like me, I ventured to Jaipur, my birth city, and listened to the stories of women from all walks of life. Their stories showed me that I come from a lineage of powerful women. I’m the founder of Global Girlhood, an organization dedicated to empowering women globally through storytelling and the use of social media. I hope the stories Global Girlhood shares, ignites a revolution where women globally celebrate and spark each other’s power. She is a freshman at Cornell University and continues to use her voice to create change.

She began to lead discussions at her school about diversity and inclusion. She later became a teen advisor to the United Nations Foundation Girl Up and later began to advocate for gender equality around the globe. Fatimata scaled up her work and later became a published poet to the book Perfectly Imperfect. KIRTANA KRISHNAKUMAR
She / Her
Editorial Operations
Atlanta, Georgia
My name is Kirtana Krishnakumar, and I’m a freshman studying Quantitative Social Sciences at University College London. I’m a researcher at heart, willing to pursue any rabbit hole, but most interested in equitable education reform and foreign policy. I find that individual voices get lost in analysts’ graphs, preventing a more complete understanding of global issues. That’s why Global Girlhood excites me; we explore social issues on a micro level, giving importance to each story. Moreover, we aim to link women across the world, encouraging us to not just read, write, and think, but also connect. Can’t wait to expand our GGH community, forge friendships, and tackle issues together—with the diverse women behind the numbers!
